Dr. Aylin Gezgin grew up in Lake Hopatcong, NJ and attended Barnard College – Columbia University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience and Behavior. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ), now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and the only dental school in the state of New Jersey.
She went on to complete a year long General Practice Residency (GPR) at the East Orange Veterans Hospital, where she gained invaluable experience in restorative, endodontic, and surgical techniques as well as in the diagnosis and treatment planning of patients with complex medical histories.
During her residency, Dr. Gezgin began working in a well-respected private practice near her hometown on the weekends where she further expanded her clinical skills and received exposure to a family practice environment, treating patients of all ages. Upon graduating from residency, she was asked to join the practice as a full time associate alongside the owners. She spent the next 6 years there, learning new techniques and broadening her clinical and patient management skills.
Dr. Gezgin feels extremely fortunate to be a part of a profession that allows her to combine her passion for artistry with her love for connecting with people. She prides herself on her attention to detail, as well as her strong ethical principles and ability to make her patients feel comfortable. She is always staying abreast of current techniques and topics in the field by regularly participating in continuing education courses.
