Dr. Ben Hanft grew up in Essex County and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Despite loving the Tar Heel State, he returned to the northeast and attended Columbia University for dental school.  

He continued his training with a General Practice Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where he was taught by over 60 experienced dentists from the greater New Jersey area. He gained considerable experience in all phases of dentistry, including endodontic and surgical techniques, and is excited about the emerging digital aspects of dentistry. He is continuously seeking new forms of continuing education. 

Dr. Hanft is very excited to be a part of the Smile Today team. As a formerly nervous dental patient himself, his first priority is always making his patients feel comfortable in the chair. When not performing dentistry, he enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and watching New York sports and his Tar Heels. He is always ready to discuss last night’s game with you.
